NON HUMAN ZONE
Alla Mezentseva’s Solo Exhibition
Cube.Moscow
19 April – 1 June 2025, Moscow
NON HUMAN ZONE is a territory where subjectivity is redistributed.

Working within the genre of technological art, the artist explores the boundaries of exclusion, limitation, and the elimination of the “superfluous” — boundaries defined by the fundamental tension between subject and object.

The world of NON HUMAN ZONE is free of hierarchy — a world where mechanisms are complete, organisms are autonomous, and art is not obliged to be comprehensible or adaptive. At the same time, it becomes a zone that excludes the human. For the artist, this process carries no negative connotation: without the human, the world remains just as natural and beautiful, choosing for itself a different logic of coexistence. NON HUMAN ZONE is neither a dystopia nor an attempt to reinvent posthumanism, but rather a straightforward statement of fact: art no longer depends on human perception.

In this project, Alla Mezentseva steps beyond familiar cognitive models in which the human being serves as the main operator of meaning. The space of artistic presence, in turn, ceases to function as a site of prestigious contemplation, cognition, or human manipulation. The exhibition becomes a zone of neutral subjectivity — a space of self-sufficiency and self-reflection for digital and biological processes alike.
